JAMMU, Nov 18:  Provincial Power Employees Union has announced to launch a series of protest dharnas against alleged harassment of the PDD employees by the higher authorities by issuing verbal orders on collection of Revenue.
As per the programme, the Union will organize protest dharnas on November 20, 21 and 22 at Division I- Parade, Division III-Rehari and Division II-Gandhi Nagar, respectively.
Decision in this regard was taken during an emergency meeting of the Union, held under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta, who strongly criticized the functioning of PDD higher authorities, which used to shift the blame for failure to reduce T&D losses  on Class-III Technical staff.
If the higher authorities do not change their attitude towards the technical staff, then the Union will have no option other than to adopt an indefinite agitational path, he warned.
General secretary of the union, Aijaz Kazmi also spoke in the meeting and alleged that the convener DPC Jammu has not adopted proper norms for conversion of Daily Wagers to regular cadre.  There is disparity in the regularization order pertaining to the cut off date as some seniors,  engaged earlier, were  not regularized and remained in the waiting list, he explained
He appealed the DPC convener Jammu to frame a policy and issue instructions on the cut off date in each and every district.
Senior vice-president and some other leaders, including Rajan Babu and Sunil Kochar also addressed the meeting.
