NEW DELHI: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today congratulated the Army Chief and the Defence Minister for carrying out successful surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC and said the government is committed to countering terrorism.
“I congratulated the Defence Minister and the Chief of Army. It is such a good day for us,” he said at a railway function here.
“Congratulations to IndianArmy for carrying out Surgical Strikes. Our Government is committed to counter the menace of terrorism,” Prabhu twitted.
India conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads last night across the Line of Control (LoC) and inflicted significant casualties and heavy damage.
The announcement of the sudden action by the Army to target terrorists was made by DGMO Lt Gen Ranveer Singh at a hurriedly called news conference during which External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup was also present. (AGENCIES)
