Prakash, Ashraf lay foundation of raw Pashmina storage facility

SRINAGAR, Aug 22: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga and Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Housing, Urban Development and Power Mohammad Ashraf Mir today laid foundation stone of office-cum-storage facility at SICOP Raw Material Depot, Zainakote, estimated to cost Rs 2.45 crore. The facility will serve for storage of Raw Pashmina and Plastic Granules.
MLA Batmaloo Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Director Industries and Commerce Nazim Zai Khan, Managing Director, SICOP R. L. Tikoo, Members of Federation Chamber of Industries, Kashmir and other senior officers and representatives of industries were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Industries and Commerce said that construction of office-cum-storage shed was a long pending demand of industrialists of the region which has been fulfilled today. He said the facility will be equipped with internet connectivity and other means to ease the conduct of business through e-commerce.
Mr. Prakash directed the executing agency to speed up the work and complete the project within the stipulated time.
The Minister said that the Government led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has already under the ease of doing business initiative taken several pro- industry decisions and a new industrial policy 2015 will also be announced soon. He added that industry friendly atmosphere is being created in the State for setting up of new business units.
The Minister said various changes are being brought about in this sector and the Government is making concerted efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir a Model Industrial State in the County.
While speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for I&C Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that industrial sector is being focussed upon by the Government and will add value to economy in the near future.
