JAMMU, Mar 23: Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha, Khour celebrated the 648th Prakash Utsav of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj with great devotion and fervour at the Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj at Khour.
The event witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees and prominent personalities from the region. Darshan Loach, Director Finance, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of unity and education, reflecting on the timeless teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. Stressing the significance of community development, Loach announced a generous donation of Rs 50,000 to establish a library in the Gurudwara premises, promoting education among the community.
Pathi Santosh delivered spiritual sermons, inspiring the Sangat to follow the principles of unity, compassion, and education as taught by Guru Ji. Sham Lal Basson, president of the All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and ex-Corporator, highlighted the relevance of Guru Ji’s teachings in addressing modern-day challenges like drug addiction.
While quoting words of great Guru, he encouraged the audience to seek spiritual enlightenment and stressed the transformative power of education.
The event also saw speeches from distinguished guests, including Ramesh Bhasin, Prof. Chaman Lal Shivgotra, Darshan Lal Kalsotra, Surinder Devgowda and others.
Several members were honoured on the occasion.
Vikram Singh, president of Guru Ravidas Sabha Khour, extended vote of thanks while . Ravi Kumar, general secretary, conducted the stage proceedings.
The celebration was a true reflection of the values and teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji, inspiring devotees to embrace unity and social harmony.
