JAMMU, June 9: Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Unit organised a State level function for celebration of 619th Prakash Utsav of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb Ji here at Abhinav Theatre today in which followers and devotees of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb Ji from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir and from neighbouring states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana participated to pay homage to great sant of Bhakti movement.
People from the different areas reached at venue in the shape of Jhankies by chanting slogan and bhajans of Sant Kabir. A Satsang and Kirtan was also held on the occasion by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat., while singing the Shabad Dohe and Saakhian of Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb Ji, preached the Sangat to follow the teaching of Sant Kabir Saheb Ji as only his teachings can bring Bhagat community to stop bad habits like drinking alcohol, smoking, dowry etc.

The family members of the Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath Ji were special invitee. Bushan Lal Dogra, vice Chairman SC Advisory Board J&K State, was the chief guest and Prof Raj Kumar Bhagat, National President of Bhagat Mahasabha was the guest of honour. He appealed the Bhagat Samaj to unite on the one platform for proper upliftment of Samaj in right direction. Er Pawan Bhagat Chairman Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Units also spoke on the occasion and appealed the Sangat to leave all the bad habits. Mahinder Bhagat, president Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Unit, suggested to increase the mutual co-operation among the samaj which is the need of hour for unity of Samaj. Er Sudesh Bhagat also spoke on the occasion and cautioned to be aware of the people who betrayed the Megh Samaj in past. Bodh Raj Bhagat, National vice president also addressed the Sangat and suggested some ideas for upliftment of Bhagat Samaj. Tilak Raj Bhagat, general secrtetaryt J&K Unit highlighted the achievement of Bhagat Mahasabha in last eight years.
Others who spoke and addressed the gathering were Tarsem Bhagat Treasurer Bhagat Mahasabha, Shamsher Bhagat, President (Block Marh Jammu), Sansar Chand Bhagat, Vice President Jammu, Rattan Lal Bhagat, President (Block Raipur, Domana) and Jai Kumar Bhagat.
More than 100 meritorious students of the Bhagat Samaj were also honoured on the occasion. All office bearers of Block committees of Bhagat Mahasabha, Panches and Sarpanches of the community were present on the occasion before concluding the celebration Guru Ka Langar was served to the Sangat.
Meanwhile All J&K Shri Sad Guru Kabir Sabha celebrated 619th ‘Kabir Jayanti’ & Shahidi Divas of Bhagat Amarnath today at its Head-Quarter Kabir Bhawan, Chak-Avtara, Bishnah, with great zest and fervor. The function was largely attended by the devotees/followers of Kabir Sahib from different parts of the State and many dignitaries from other states. The day started with offering garland of flowers to the statue of Sant kabir ji at Kabir Rotary near Bus Stand.
A spiritual discourse was delivered by Swami Margyesmit, Kabir follower from Gujarat, Baba Bhagwan Dass Ji, (Udhas Marg R S Pura) and Baba Dina Nath Ji follower of Late Chandi Ram on the Baani of Saints with special reference to Kabir Baani. They all explained the Sangat that Kabir was a living spirit of God and preached the inner richness of human values.
President of “All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha”, F C Bhagat, while addressing the gathering said that where there is truth, no religion is required because truth itself is a great religion. This is stated by Lord Buddha, Kabir, Mahatma Phule and followed by Dr Ambedkar. Guru Nanak and other saints called this truth as Satnam and Dr B R Ambedkar legalised these thoughts in Constitutuion of India. He further appealed that now it is necessary for extending it for future humanity as “Samvidhan Dharma”.
The Sabha also congratulated the students of Bhagat community who secured top positions in recent Civil Service Examination, Board/University results and candidates selected for KAS, MBBS and other allied services.
Girdari Lal Bhagat, IRS (Chief Income Tax Commissioner, Retd) and G R Bhagat (IAS Retd) senior vice president also spoke on the occasion stressed for transformation of society. They further reiterated that it is the moral duty of every Indian to have respect for Constitution and ensure its protection.
Among others who attended and spoke included Bhushan Dogra (Vice Chairman, dvisory board for SC), Prof Garu Ram, ex-MLA, Pprof Asdhok Bhagat (vice president of Sabha), Prof. Ashok of Chaman Chaman Lal, Dr Gurdass Ram (Chairman Litigation Committee), Pardeep Bhagat, Manohar Lal (General Secretary), District Presidents Babu Ram, Dr Buti Ram, coordinators Subhash Bhagat and Ravinder Bhagat and all the office bearers who paid rich tributes to the Great Saint Shri Sad Guru Kabir Sahib.
At the end GURU Ka Langar was served to the Sangat.
Ambedkar Club paid homage to Bhagat Kabir Ji on his 619th Prakash Utsav, while participating in a program organised by Kabir Welfare Commette Dantryal, Marh, Jammu.
The programme started with devotional songs, followed by Bhajan Kirtan on the life history of Sant Kabir Ji. The programme was well presented by Kuldeep Bhagat, organising secretry of KWC, Dantryal Marh.
Various speakers expressed their views on the life history and contribution of Bhagat Kabir. About 5000 people from all walk of society participated in this colourful function in this premises. The committee also honoured the meritorious students of the community of different classes of this area. During the day long function the slogan “Jai Kabir Dhan Kabir” were chanted by the Sangat.
Prominent members of the Ambedkar Club present on the occasion were, Dr Rajesh Bhagat, Manmeet K Mottan, Dr Mohan K Atri etc while other prominent persons present on the occasion were Chaman Lal Bhagat, S L Bhagat, Naresh Bhagat, Purn Chand, Bachan Lal Bhagat etc.
Shiromani Bhagat Kabir Maharaj Prakash Utsav was celebrated with full gaiety and fervour in Gurdwara of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji at Teg Bahadur Nagar, Omara Morh, Udhampur which joined hands with SK Police Academy, 137 CRPF Bn, Army and local Sangat.
The programme started early in the morning with Kirtan by Huzuri Ragi Bhai Navjot Singh”Sura So Pahchaniye Jo Larhe Din Ke Het, Purja Purja Katt Mare, Kabho Na Chhade Khet. Ragi Jagtar Singh and Ragi Dilbagh Singhh and Katha Vaachak Bhai Ranjit Singh highlighted the teaching of Kabir Ji Maharaj cutting across all barriers of caste and creed like humanity of one God.
SSP Randhir Singh, Deputy Commandant, R P Singh, SM Uttam Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
Kabir Mandir Committtee of village Kalyana, R S Pura today celebrated Prakash Utsav of great saint and social reformer Bhagat Kabir wherein former sdarpanch and senior NC leader Raj Kuar Bhagat was the chief guest. Paying rich tributes to Kabir Ji, Raj Kumar Bhagat urged the people to follow the path as shown by Bhagat Kabir Ji and make their contribution to further the cause of creating an equal society. Others who also spoke included Rawal Singh, Om Parkash, Bodh Raj, Suresh Kumar, Inder Raj, Bishan Dass etc.
