Precasious power scenerio

Sir,
One step forward, two steps back… This is how system works in our State, same is true for basic amenities of our State, say availability of uninterrupted power to consumer and mitigation of their woes, are concerned.
Way back in 2013, the authorities were urged to entrust distribution and transmission of power to private agency in order to streamline the system, make available quality power supply to consumers  in time bound manner. In 2016, the task was assigned to IRCON (under R-APDRP) who are reasonably doing good work, brought a paradigm shift from a state of inertia by shifting and installing the new electric meters from inside houses to electric poles located outside, to start with.
Much expection had arisen too amongst the consumers that efficient supply of power will be made available and thus bid permanently goodbye to difficult times suffered every year on this account. However, the time passes, we see that things initiated with great tempo have failed to achieve the desired results for reasons best known to authorities that be. In fact, more is needed to be done to keep the pace determined and live to catch up  the demand.
This year too we experienced not much relief from woes in peak summer when earlier irregular features for erratic supply crept in viz unscheduled power cuts for prolonged hours/single phase supply/overlapping of cables uninstalled meters for new connections or replacement/shortage of electric poles/illegal connection/overloading of transformers both at local and grid stations/interruption in water supply too, in many areas.
Reportedly, the task entrusted to IRCON seems to have been completed 50 percent in civil line areas but much needed work to be required for cluster of houses located at interior lanes, by lanes remains neglected. Also, learnt that this task, though abandoned presently, is now proposed to be takenup by PDD themselves (instead of IRCON). When they shall start…. a big question!
Like so, it is learnt that transmission of power has not been entrusted to IRCON (only distribution is assigned to them). Pertinent to mention that both distribution and transmission of power was suggested to be allotted to agency to bring efficiency and speed in system and plug the revenue loss and leakage/minimize settlement of public grievances as done in other developed states.
It is expected that Govt pays serious attention to this issue and fulfills the promises made by them that not only quality power is assured to people before new election are due but also make this state self sufficient in power.
Yours etc..
