Prem Nath Bhat Trust discusses KPs issues

JAMMU, Dec 12: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust organised a meeting of the heads of various KP organisations, today. The purpose of the meeting was to formulate a joint response to some of the pressing issues afflicting the community.
The meeting was chaired by Justice (retd) Sunil Hali and the prominent who attended included Vijay Bakaya, former MLC and Chief Secretary, Virender Raina president PK, K.K.Khosa president, KP Sabha, Swamy Kumar Ji, M.K.Yogi, P.N.Goja, Desh Rattan, Chand Ji Bhat, Brij Lal Bhat, Kuldeep Raina, M.K.Jalali, Reuben Sapru, Chand Ji, M.M.Thaploo, S.K.Bhat and Sundri Lal Koul.
General secretary of the Trust Shadi Lal Koul read the welcome address and said that in the last fortnight the PNBMT organised corner meetings at various places.
BJP leader and leading community activist, H.L.Bhat gave an overview of the life and times of Pt.Prem Nath Bhat and how his sacrifice awakened the community.
Vijay Bakaya who has been chosen as the Community Speaker this year for Chetna Diwas said that the issue of the Temples & Shrines Bill has bedeviled the community for long and the time has come to get the bill passed in a time bound manner. On the issue of the PM Package Employees he said that it’s an extraordinary situation and needs an extraordinary response.
Justice Hali said that the community seems to have been cast away and made to fend for itself. He said “We need to create pressure points in order to make things happen. The KP community has tremendous strengths and we need to leverage those”, he added.
Virender Raina raised the issue of the Distress Sale Act and said that the law is not being followed in letter and spirit.
K.K.Khosa expressed serious concern regarding the condition of the package employees and expressed his solidarity with them. He said that the future of community is on roads and the Government must take a serious and compassionate view of their demands.
Kashmiri Lal expressed serious concerns regarding the illegal changes being made by way of farcical settlements in the status of the lands of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir.
He said that the community speaker must include these issues in his speech on the Chetna Diwas Day on December 27. P.N.Goja also raised various legal issues before the community.
PM Package Employees leader Reuben Sapru raised the issue of the employees and demanded that the salary of the employees be released forthwith.
Chairman of the Trust Roshan Lal Pandita presented the vote of thanks.
