JAMMU, June 12: To tackle with the summer traffic challenges on Jammu- Lakhanpur highway, we are preparing a meticulous plan to overcome such Traffic management issues, this was stated by DIG Traffic, Jammu Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal, here today.
To access the trouble spots created due to the ongoing construction activities at Samba Kathua National Highway, DIG paid a special visit and also held an interaction programme with field traffic police officers and officials at Jatwal, Samba.
The assessment of ongoing construction activities and the challenges being posed during these activities were assessed on ground. The bottle necks and choking points were identified on ground. Requisite guidelines, instructions were given to the concerned officers on the spot.
The motive behind the interaction programme was to actually know the upcoming summer challenges like boom in tourism, trade-transport activities and the forthcoming Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra and to sensitize the traffic police officers and men.
On spot directions were given to the traffic officers and men to remain in constant liasoning with road construction agencies to ensure that the regulation of tourist as well as yatra vehicles is ensured in hassle free manners.
He also stressed for taking strict action against the menace of dangerous/drunken driving which attribute to the accidents causing loss of precious lives.
DIG Traffic, emphasized on developing better coordination with all construction companies and other stake holders so that an efficient system is created to met out any Traffic management challenges.
Smooth movement of the Police and CAPF during the recently conducted General Elections through the length and breadth of the area was also ensured by the meticulous deployment of the Traffic Rural Jammu, was highly appreciated.
Despite the worst road condition right from Lakhanpur to Jammu in view of ongoing road construction activities, all such challenges have been met successfully by the Traffic cops.
Vinay Kumar, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu and Javaid Iqbal Tabassam, Dy.SP Traffic Samba Kathua were also present on this occasion.
