POONCH, Mar 31: Former minister and senior National Conference leader Mian Altaf Ahmed has castigated present PDP led Government for neglecting twin district of Rajouri and Poonch, saying that the present Government has failed to do anything for the welfare and development of the people of these areas in last three years.
In a statement issued here today, Mian Altaf who is on a two- day tour to Poonch and Rajouri district said that people apprised him of their grievances particularly about the unemployment and developmental issues like lack of road infrastructure, power supply and acute shortage of water and lack of health infrastructure.
” The present Government has neglected the areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts as the areas are facing worst crisis of development related issues” the statement added.
Mian Altaf said that the present Government only believes in photo sessions and press statements and no work is visible on the ground in these areas. The NC MLA also said that the Government has literally failed to take up the construction work of 4-laning of Jammu-Poonch Road, a project that was sanctioned under Prime Ministers package in 2015.
He also said that the government has failed to provide any relief to the affected people of firing along the LoC.
Altaf was accompanied by senior NC leader and former MP Mirza Abdul Rashid and Chowdhary Liyaqat.
