Presentation of Twelfth Night

Sir,
It is heartening to read that Natrang presented Shakespeare’s world famous play ‘Twelfth Night’ under the direction of Aarushi Thakur Rana at world culture  destination’Kingdom of Dreams’.Twelfth Night is one of the most famous comedies of William Shakespeare, which is believed to have been written between 1600 and 1602 and which was first published alongwith his other plays in 1623 in the First Folio.Shakespeare loved the use of the device of mistaken identity  and nowhere does he use more skillfully than in Twelfth Night. The play, set in the mythical land of Illyria, based on the theme of mistaken identity and role reversal, ends with the reunion of the twins-Sebastian and Viola and the ringing of marriage bells of Sebastian and Olivia and Viola and Orsino.Like his other plays, this  play has also given us useful and popular quotes such as’ Be not afraid of greatness:some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them’,’ Journeys end in lovers meeting,’If music be the food of love, play on’and ‘Love sought is good but giv’n unsought is better,’etc.which have enriched English language and become a part of our everyday talk and are often quoted on various occasions. The fact that the elite audience gave a standing ovation to this performace for innovative design, direction and electrifying performance of the actors, actresses bears  testimony to the fact that the director and other members of  Natrang have left no stone unturned to make the play a great success. The presentation of such a great play at Jammu is certainly a great opportunity to Jammuites to watch the play and appreciate Shakespearean art.
Yours etc….
