For near about all around the world the withering of family system is a social challenge that affects many families. The breakdown of the age old family system can lead to elderly people being neglected and unsupported. In China the number of elderly people who are unable to rely on their children for care is expected to be triple. Russia also became a victim of the withering of family system. A French philosopher Pierre Henri Tavoillot characterizes vocation as a corpus of theory revolving round “identity gender and race”, positing that all aspects of society can be reduced to a dynamic of oppressor and oppressed.
Wokeism
Most people may have heard of Critical Theory” from Frankfurt, a city in Germany as “Frankfurt School”. This theory dominated the study of capitalism, it’s alternatives that shaped societies. Like serpentine movement with course of time the economical critical theory changed into “Critical Race Theory,” i.e.the division of the society on the basis of colour, economical status, sex, forwardness-backwardness etc. In India this theory was modified for division in Dalits versus Non-Dalits, minorities-majority, males and female, upper class versus lower class. This theory advocates glorification of so called oppressed. It is like to compare the growth of “Cancer Cells” that thrive on the energy supply to the normal tissue. Wokeism is a brain child of left liberal theories of United States of America and is responsible for division with shattering smashing and devastating the family values. The Hindu festivals like Raksha Bandhan Karva Chauth Diwali Holi are specific targets with plea of gender, equalization, environment and water harvesting. Some Indians, who are influenced by wokeism like some judges in supreme court pass orders that are irrational and suicidal to the Indian society.
ADDRESS OF VICE PRESIDENT OF INDIA
For strengthering of family and family values the Vice President of India accentuated, stressed and focused on the importance of fortifying the worth of family in a society during his address in Ujjain. He said this while inaugurating the 66th All India Kalidas Festival in Ujjain on Nov 12, 2024. He stated that kutumb prabodhan is inherent in the character of India and is a core principle of our culture. In his own words he said, “It is part of India’s character; if we do not pay attention to the family, how will life be meaningful? We must know who is in our neighborhood, who is in our society, what their joys and sorrows are, and how we can help them. This makes life meaningful. In a time when everyone is turning towards materialism, becoming so busy that we ignore our loved ones, the nation will only thrive when the family is cared for. The nation will prosper when we care for our own. This is the core principle of our culture.
Furthermore in his Presidential address Vice President also drew attention to the duties of citizens saying, “Brothers and sisters, no society or country can function solely by emphasizing rights. Our Constitution grants us rights, with our duties. Citizens have responsibilities. Therefore, on this day, I urge to you to reflect. We are citizens of a great India. Indian- ness is our identity. We believe in natinalism, and our nation is our greatest religion. The nation must be placed above all, and every citizen must contribute to it. The best way to do this is by fulfilling our duties.
The Vice President highlighted the need to instill awareness about civic duties and ethics in the younger generation for character building, saying, “Children are our future. We must pay attention to their character and nurture their belief in ethics. This is our primary responsibility. It is great to imagine and aspire for children to become doctors, engineers, officers, or entrepreneurs, but the most important thing is that children should grow up to be good citizens who understand the value of being a responsible citizen and fulfilling their duties.”
Vice President also spoke about the importance of preserving culture and the legacy of Indian civilization. He said, “It is certain that any nation or society that does not preserve its culture and cultural heritage cannot last long. We must pay full attention to our culture, as our cultural roots remind us of the essence of life, the value of life, and the philosophy of existence. The 66th All India Kalidas Festival is a symbol of our culture. It reminds us how unique we are in the world. There is no other country like India that has such a rich
Emphasizing India’s commitment to ‘Samajik Samrasta’ (Social Harmony). That means all the sections of society should be equal and there should be feelings of each one to have respect for other citizen belonging to any profession, any caste, and creed and any Vice President said, “Today, ‘Samajik Samrasta’ is being challenged from many directions. India has always stood for for social harmony, world peace, and the welfare of all. We are citizens of a country that a has adopted the principle of Vasudev Kutumbkam (the world is one family) and has set an example for the world. We gave the world Yoga because we think of everyone. “Referring to the works of the Great Kalidas, the Vice President highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. In Sanskrit the meaning of environment is “Paryavaran”. It is made of two words one is “Pari” that means ‘all around’, and other word is “Aawaran” meaning ‘covering’. The Vice President said, “The burning issue of today is the environment, at this is something we learn from the works of Mahakavi Kalidas. He Reminds us that environmental conservation and creation are crucial for our existence. We must all focus on the serious problem of climate change and remember that we have no other place to live besides Earth”.
In 5th century CA, Mahakavi Kalidas has composed a lyric poem in Sanskrit depicting the importance of natural messenger that is cloud to send a message from a Yaksha, a natural spirit who had been banished by his master to remote region for a year. Mahakavi Kalidas beautifully describes the nature and cloud to take a message of love to his wife and in a return his wife sends and an affectionate communication. This poem reflects the gorgeousness of scenery and colours of cloud.
The Vice President in his address describes about Kavi Kalidas, and tells,”It is our duty and responsibility to create and preserve nature. If we do not pay attention to nature, as I have said before, we have no other planet to call home. The Prime Minister’s call to action, ” Ek Ped Ma Ke Nam”is a great initiative. If every citizen of India plants and preserve tree in the name of his mother, it will bring about a revolution like the one that we have achieved in the field of cleanliness, he added.
