KARGIL, Jan 22: President Anjuman Jamiyat Ullama Isna Ashriya Kargil (AJUIAK) Sheikh Nazir-ul-Mehdi called on Lt Governor Ladakh RK Mathur.
Mehdi enquired about the progress of already raised issues like inclusion of Muslim important days as official holidays in the calendar of Ladakh UT. LG assured that appropriate decisions will be taken on it.
Mehdi also enquired about the demand of Civil Air Service and Kargil Airport, on which RK Mathur said that there is a meeting on 27th of January at New Delhi by Home Ministry and hope that there will be a positive decision in this favour. Kargil Airport and Zojila tunnel are the priority issues of UT Administration, Mathur added.
Mathur also said that even the Home Ministry is focused on these issues and that is why Government has recommended raising the funds in Zojila Tunnel construction work which was a great issue in its work finalization.
