NEW DELHI : President Pranab Mukherjee expressed serious concern over the massive fire, which broke out inside the Parliament Complex this afternoon.
He called upon authorities concerned to conduct an urgent enquiry into the cause of fire and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. “The President said the complete safety and security of the Parliament Complex must be ensured at all times,” a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhawan said.
The blaze had been brought under control. As many as 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. However, no causalities have been reported so far, sources said.
