JAMMU, Jan 13: Rakesh Gupta, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Gupta apprised the Lt Governor about various issues related to the development of industry and trade in Jammu and the efforts made by the Chamber to secure resolution of some of the issues pertaining to the Industrial growth and other concerns of local business community.
Lt Governor assured that the present Government is committed towards the economic development of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with big events such as the forthcoming J&K Global Investment’s Summit in the pipeline to attract massive investment in the UT.
The main issues projected include- requested for outsourcing of Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu, reduction in one time road tax on vehicles, incentives to MSME sector, framing panel to assess running losses Post Aug 5 by business world in J&K, renewal of registration as Pharmacist under J&K Pharmacy Act, restoration of Internet services across J&K, implementing the ban on export of forest products, introduction of an act debarring construction of religious places without approval, holding regular BOKA meeting, review notices to Business establishments in Channi Himmat Colony Jammu for violations and one time amnesty for Electricity bills (Commercial Sector).
Meanwhile, Asif Iqbal Burza, Managing Director, Ahad Hotels and Resorts also called on Lt Governor, here today.
Burza apprised the Lt Governor about range of issues pertaining to Hotel Industry of Kashmir region and suggested measures for promotion and development of Tourism sector.
Lt Governor observed that the Government is taking several initiatives to promote the Tourism sector in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured Burza that the Government is resolute in giving due consideration to the issues of Hotel fraternity for their early redressal.
