NEW DELHI : President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday highlighted various achievements of the Modi government and said that the country is following a road map as envisioned by the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar.
Our country is following a roadmap as envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi and which is based on social justice and value based principles, the President said in his address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament here.
He said right from the day one, the government has worked with a determined manner to fight corruption and other menaces associated with the government.
Amid frequent thumping of desks, the President mentioned about various welfare measures and the government’s move to fight diseases, ensure economical medical treatment and also setting up of AIIMS.
He said under his government, rural development has been a focus area and electricity has reached all the villages in the country.
We are heading towards a situation where there will be no house without power, Mr Kovind said. (agencies)
