RAMBAN, Oct 18: J&K BJP Kisan Morcha president Omi Khajuria today visited several villages of district Ramban and educated the farmers over three farm bills passed recently in Parliament.
Khajuria accompanied by Pawan Khajuria (UT vice president of Kissan Morcha and prabhari of district Ramban) and district president Jugal Sharma toured Dharmund, Chakwa, Thopal, Chilla, Shampa, Sangsa, Dhalwa and many other villages, where he interacted with the farmers and listened to their grievances.
While interacting with the farming community, Khajuria explained the importance of the three farm bills passed recently in parliament. He said that first time in Indian history, such bills were introduced specially for the betterment of the farmers, who can now increase their income rapidly by using modern technique during farming.
He said that the past Governments only used farmers for their vote bank politics and always misled them over the value of MSP and purchased their produce on a very low price. The farmers being poor and less educated were befooled by these Governments but by passing the farm bills, the Modi Government empowered farmers and now they can sell their produce in any part of India with impunity.
“The bills passed by Modi Government propose to create a system in which the farmers and traders can sell their purchase outside the Mandis. Further, these bills also encourage intra-state trade and propose to reduce the cost of transportation,” he added.
Others accompanying the Khajuria were Kissan Morcha UT general secretary Raman Singh, district president BJP Rakesh Thakur, Kissan Morcha UT media secretary Vijay Sharma and BDC Chairman Rajeshwer Kumar.
