PREWA reiterates demand

JAMMU, Aug 18:  J&K Prisons Retired Employees Welfare Association (PREWA) has reiterated the demand for constituting welfare board for retired prison personnel, today.
This was stated in a statement wherein Krishan Singh, president, PREWA said their demand for constituting welfare board and  framing/reframing welfare under rules for the in-service and retired prison personnel both (gazetted and non-gazetted) on police pattern as envisaged in the jail manual so that they are able to avail similar kinds of amenities and facilities as are available to their counterparts in police and other sister organisations.
Singh further demanded immediate release of 6% DA instalment from January 2015, enhancement of monthly medical allowance to Rs 1000 and issuance of orders for raising pensions by 50% to 100% after 80 to 100 years of age of pensioners.
Meanwhile, Association has congratulated police officers and officials who have been awarded President’s Police medals for distinguished service on the eve of Independence Day.
