NEW DELHI, Oct 4:
President Pranab Mukherjee today flagged off the ‘Swacch Bharat Run’ at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The President also joined around 1,500 participants for a brief stretch.
Participants in the run included officers and staff of the Secretariat, the President’s Body Guard, Army Guard and Delhi police as well as their families.
The flagging off of the event comes two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’ (Clean India Campaign) at India gate on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The campaign aims to make India litter free by 2019. (UNI)
