LEH: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived here today on a two-day visit amid tense situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. This is the first official visit of the President outside Delhi since taking the oath of office.
His visit comes five days after the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) of China clashed with the Indian Army personnel near Pangong Lake on the Independence Day.
The two sides pelted stones at each other, which resulted into injuries to personnel of both the countries.
Mr Kovind arrived here today and presented the President’s Colours to the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre and the five battalions of the regiment.
The event was attended by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat. (AGENCIES)
