JAMMU, Oct 30: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Ladakh from October 31 to November 1.
On October 31, the President will attend the Foundation Day celebrations of UT Ladakh at Leh.
On November 1, the President will visit Siachen base camp and interact with troops. On the same day, she will attend the civic reception to be hosted in her honour at Leh. The President will also interact with members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and local tribals, an official statement said.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), reviewed the arrangements for the two-day visit of President Draupadi Murmu, to Ladakh.
The LG visited the Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra, Leh, where he inspected the arrangements made for the celebration of the 5th Foundation Day of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
He also visited the Sindhu Ghat where he inspected the ongoing arrangements made for the event for the President of India to be held on November 1.
The LG also inspected the helipad at Sindhu Ghat and visited the Hotel Grand Dragon where he reviewed the necessary arrangements being made for the event where the President would be the chief guest.
The concerned Venue Commanders apprised the LG of the preparations and minute to minute of the events to ensure smooth conduct of the functions.
Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal, ADGP, Ladakh, Dr SD Jamwal, Commissioner Secretary, Padma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary, Mehboob Ali Khan, Secretary, Ravindra Kumar, Secretary, Amit Sharma, Secretary, Micheal D Souza, Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve, SSP, Leh, PD Nitya, besides other concerned officers accompanied the LG during the visit.
