JAMMU, Oct 11: A priest of an ‘Ashram’ was allegedly attacked today by a man in Durga Nagar area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the victim has been identified as Swami Ashutosh Ji Maharaj son of Sukhchain Sharma, who is priest in Ashram Shiv Shakti Dham located at Chib Mohalla, Durga Nagar, Jammu. The victim received some injuries in the mishap after which he was shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment.
He said as per the statement of the victim, one Jaswinder Singh Chib alias Billa son of Ajeet Singh, resident of Chib Mohalla, Durga Nagar attacked him with a wooden long following dispute over the “Ashram” land, which was allegedly donated some decades back by Jaswinder’s ancestors.
The official said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Domana and the accused was detained by the police for questioning.
