Primary school found locked in Mendhar during SDM’s inspection

MENDHAR, Oct 26: What can be described as the dismal performance of Education Department more than this, that a Primary school was found locked in Mohalla Qazian in Mendhar Zone of Poonch district during the surprise visit of SDM Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar to the school today.
According to reports the school has two teachers on its establishment but it often remains locked with the result the inhabitants of the area were forced to take up the issue with the authorities and today when SDM inspected the school he too was surprised to see it locked.
The SDM during his visit to the area also inspected Government Middle School Nar Chhajala where he found three teachers namely Mohammed Hanif,  Yasmin Akhtar and Mohammed Yousf absent from duty.
He also visited Government Girls Primary School Pahalian Zone, Mendhar and found one teacher Rayaz Ahmed absent from duty.
The SDM has expressed his displeasure as the mid day meal was not supplied in the school properly.
In a communiqué to Director School Education Jammu, the SDM Mendhar has recommended suspension of all the teachers found absent from duty, the copies of the letter were also sent to DC Poonch and Chief Education Officer (CEO), Poonch by him.
He has also sought a detailed report from Deputy CEO Mendhar about the functioning of schools in the tehsil and locking of Primary school Mohalla Qazian and absence of teachers from other schools besides issuing orders for withholding of salaries of these teachers.
