Prisons pensioners’ plea to Govt

JAMMU, Aug 17: J&K Prisons Retired Employees Welfare Association has urged the State Government to enhance the pension scale and medical allowance of the retired Prisons employees.

In a meeting of the Association held here today, its president Krishan Singh made a strong plea to the Government to enhance the pension of the retired State employees of Prisons department on the pattern of Central Government. He also demanded that medical allowance be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month in view of rising prices of medicines and other medical treatment.

Mr Singh also issued appeal to DG Prisons to hold 2nd Annual Prisons Meet soon to provide opportunity to retired employees to project their issues and seek their redressal.
