Pristine glory of Mubarak Mandi to be restored

JAMMU, May 2: The restoration work of Mubarak Mandi would get a fillip with the involvement of more agencies to execute the work at a fast pace.
As decided in the Governing Body meeting, a team comprising of Executive/Technical Committee Members of the Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society visited Rajasthan to have a list of consultants and executing agencies engaged in the restoration work at Rajasthan.
The team comprising of Executive/Technical Committee Members Prof Lalit Magotra, N S Jamwal, Executive Director, Soujanya Sharma and Ashok Tandon, Assistant Director Tourism, Maintenance and Works Division had a series of meeting with the agencies as well as Government officers.
The Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Kiran Soni Gupta and Chairman Heritage Society, Omkar Singh Lkhawat apprised the members about the restoration work being carried out in the major forts like Amer in Jaipur, Amarpal temple in Ajmer and few other buildings.
The committee had a series of discussions with the agencies as well as the consultants and visited sites where the restoration work was in progress and they have shown their keenness to work in Jammu in the restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex.
Few of the agencies will be coming soon with their expert advice and will be displaying their talent in restoration of some part of the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex. With the coming of these more agencies, it is expected that the funds which have been allotted under the 13th Finance Commission Award would be utilized by the MMJHS and the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex will return to its pristine glory soon in a phased manner.
