JAMMU, Sept 8: Senior Congress leader and Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Pritam Singh of Ward number 55 here today started the work of laying water supply pipes in new Shanti Nagar area of Kunjwani.
The entire work will incur an expenditure of Rs. 10 lakh and is being executed by Jal Shakti Department.
Congress president of the Ward, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ramesh Kumar, Sudesh Mangal, Neeraj Sukhram and prominent citizens of Ward 55 were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Councillor said that with the completion of this work a long pending demand of the residents of the area will be fulfilled and the problem of water shortage in the locality will also be resolved.
He said that people of the area were facing water crisis problem since long and they were forced to bring water from hand-pumps.
“But now as Har Ghar Nal Har Ghar Jal scheme has been started by the Government, the water will be available at every door,” he maintained assuring the people of his Ward that all the remaining issues of the Ward shall also be fulfilled soon.
