Private Airlines to start service to Kargil

SRINAGAR, Dec 19: A private Airlies ‘Mantra Airlines’ has announced to start service to border district of Kargil in Ladakh region, which remained cut off during winter months due to closure of Srinagar-Leh national Highway.
Member of Parliament (MP) from Ladakh Ghulam Hassan Khan said that the long pending demand of the people of Kargil has been met with a private Airlines Company Mantra Airlines agreeing to start services from Friday.
He said that a high-level consultative meeting of the Ministry of Civil Aviation chaired by the Minister Civil Aviation was held in Delhi recently.
Deliberating on the Action Taken Report on pending issues of the Ministry, the Minister said that a regional air lines with small aircraft has agreed to start air service to Kargil and the Ministry has given it all necessary clearance.
This Regional Air Lines has also conducted a test flight to Kargil and presently it is finalising other formalities, including fare and load.
