Sir,
Recently, it was exposed how patients are blackmailed by the doctors serving as Government employees but ultimately doing everything for minting money in their private nursing homes/ clinics and hospitals. It is heartening that Government has taken prompt action against an oncologist who is serving in the Government Medical College. Two professions, one teachers and the other, doctors were claimed to be most godly professions. But unfortunately like in other areas the materialistic approach has put both the professions in the dock. Earning unlawfully from the poor patients and that too from the patients who suffer from most dreaded diseases like cancer is very disappointing. But the main question is why it is always that Government awakens only after receiving complaints? Why is not the Government keeping its eye on the hospitals and the nursing homes who charge illegitimately? After all patients are compelled to pay because it is a matter of life and death. But why the Government is always sleeping?
