Private schools allege harassment by DIET, Cluster Heads

JAMMU, Apr 30: A meeting of Private Schools Association was held at Luthra Public Higher Secondary School Talab Tillo Jammu, under the chairmanship of Kamal Gupta for highlighting various issues confronting the private schools.
Ajay Gupta, general secretary of the Association, briefed about agenda of the meeting, which included issuance of notice no. FFC/Jmu-17/138 dated 21/04/17 to all Private institutions by the Fee Fixation committee and registration of students of Private schools functioning in summer and winter zones of Jammu province from class 5th to 7th and 9th    in SIE as per the ‘Review of no detention policy’.
The members, present in the meeting, alleged that Cluster Heads were threatening to  Private schools to face the consequences for not obeying the Government order no. 338 Edu. of 2016 notwithstanding the Education Minister Altaf Bukhari and Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah’s assurance to dilute this controversial order.
President of the Association, Kamal Gupta said that the Government should come out with fixed parameters and clear cut policy to fix the fee of Private institutions functioning in the State. He announced  that none of the schools should deposit the RR and examination fee in DIET / Clusters for class 5th to 7th and 9th as the Minister for Education and Secretary Education have assured the  J&K PSA to grant autonomy to the Private schools functioning in the State by diluting the Government order no. 338 Edu of 2016.
Those, who attended the meeting, included Rameshwar Mengi, B D Raina, Sanjeev Luthra, Lal Chand, R P Sharma, Vivek Chouhan, Kiran Raina, Usha Jamwal, Raj Dulari Gupta, Archana Sharma, Rachana Goswami, Allah Rakha Khan, Parshant Salaria, Sameer Saproo, Thomas Ooman, Nisha Sharma, Neelam Gupta, Madan Lal, Neeru Puri, Prabha Jain, Rajeev Luthra and others.
