JAMMU, July 25: Private Schools Association members have announced not to submit documents demanded by the Government Committee.
A decision in this regard was taken in a general body meeting of Jammu Province Private School Association, held under the chairmanship of Prof J L Kotwal and attended by president, Kamal Gupta, vice president Rameshwar Mengi, general secretary, Wg Cdr M M Joshi and representatives from all the tehsils of Jammu province.
The meet deliberated on the circular issued by the Chairman of the Committee constituted by the Government and expressed anguish over alleged encroachment of the autonomy of Private Schools by the Government.
Prof Kotwal and Kamal Gupta reminded the members that Minister for School Education had assured them in the one day conference at Jammu Club that the Committee formed by the Government shall have all stake holders in it.
Maintaining that All J&K Coordination Committee of Private School Association has already submitted representation to the concerned quarter for review of this circular, the meet explained that if the authorities don’t take cognizance of the request, the noble cause of universalisation of education will receive a great set back.
The meet unanimously resolved that no private school of the State would submit the documents asked by the Committee till the decision on their request is taken. In case there is no further development on the request, the schools shall observe one day token strike, which will be followed by one-day conference to chalk out the future line of action.
