Private Schools Association organizes one-day conference

JAMMU, Mar 17: For highlighting various issues and demands, Private Schools Association organized a one-day conference at Jammu Club wherein Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who holds the portfolio of School Education, was the chief guest.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted the demands such as deleting Private schools from SRO-40 of 1968, permanent recognition to the schools which have completed ten years, amendment in SRO 123, framing of rules for governing private schools at par with Government schools, aid to the schools functioning in far flung areas with limited resources, availability of Government prescribed text books, entrusting school inspection to only one agency, permission to increase working hours and representation to the private schools in decision taking etc.
They appealed the Deputy Chief Minister to take a sympathetic view of their problems and demands, particularly SRO-123.While addressing the conference, Tara Chand assured to look into all the genuine issues and take immediate steps to provide relief. He exhorted the management of private schools to be honest and allot seats to students from Below Poverty Line.
