Private Schools Association projects demands

JAMMU, Oct 12: J&K Private Schools Association Jammu lodged a protest against the new policies and hurdles deliberately created by the Centre and State Governments to discourage the initiative of self supportive private schools working for the welfare of the mankind.

Addressing a press conference, Prof JL Kotwal, Chairman of the Association said that although the Government promises to create an atmosphere where there will be ease of doing business but practically State and its functionaries are hell bent and have come out with such policies and actions which have made private schools very hard even to breath.
President of the Association Kamal Gupta demanded withdrawal of all new orders viz NoC from traffic department, municipality, installation of CCTV, inspection fee and fine.
He also demanded exemption of private schools from commercial and labour laws, deployment of police personal at the main gate of all schools functioning in the State, grant complete autonomy to the managements while appointment of teaching and non teaching staff, install leaders of Private Schools Association from Jammu division in governing board, fix upper limit of fee so that a school can fix its fee in consultation with the parents accordingly, provide soft loans and subsidies for the expansion and creation of modern facilities, promote single window clearance system and stern action against schools functioning without providing healthy infrastructure or running classes without recognition or clubbing or running unauthorized dummy classes.
The members unanimously appealed to the Chief Minister for immediate intervention in the interest of education to redress the grievances of Unaided Private School in the entire state.
Among others present were Rameshwar Mengi, Vice President, Ajay Gupta, General Secretary, Sanjeev Luthra, Vivek Chouhan, Sat Pal Mansotra, Ajay Singh, Chain Singh, Siddeshwar Sadotra, Usha Jamwal, Vaneet Gupta, Rajeev Salathia, etc.
