JAMMU, Jan 10: Up in arms against the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) move of tagging students of the private schools, a strong protest demonstration was held in front of the BOSE office, here today.
This was apparently for the first time that a joint protest was organized by the private school owners, managements, teachers, drivers etc to highlight the hurdles being faced by them.
The protest demonstration was held under the banner of J&K Private Schools Association. The protesting members were seen carrying placards and raising banners. They were urging the JKBOSE to allow all students of class 10th, 11th & 12th (Regular) to appear from the same school from where they had been registered in the last session.
President of the Central Body of the JKPSA, Ajay Gupta lamented that the J&K Board of School Education has established a new precedence of tagging the students of Board classes i.e. 10th, 11th & 12th of private schools with the nearby Government schools. Such move of JKBOSE at the near end of the academic session has not only paralyzed the board classes but also made entire system defunct even for the class 1st to 8th, he explained and added that JKBOSE has not calculated the repercussions of tagging with regard to the salaries of teachers, ministerial staff, drivers, cleaners, peons, EMI of banks, ESIC, EPFO, Rent (in case of rented building), electricity bill etc.
Members demanded immediate rollback of the order issued by JKBOSE regarding tagging of the students. They also threatened to hold such type of protests in all corners of Jammu & Kashmir if the Government does not withdraw its controversial order against private schools
Those who spoke during the protest, included Kamal Gupta (Chairman JKPSA), Deepak Handa (Sr Vice President), Sat Paul Mansotra (General Secretary), Sanjeev Luthra ,Ajay Singh, R P Sharma, Lal Chand Gandotra, Vineet Gupta, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Laddi Kumar, Jatinder Heera, Vinit Gupta, Neeru Puri, Kanica Sharma, Tariq, Shafiq Ul Rehman , Gurbax Singh, Vishal Magotra, Naresh Kumar, Amajed, Anil Choudhary, Rashpal Singh, Dr Madan Mohan, Naresh Kumar, Ankur Arora, Rishab Choudhary, Subash Chib, Vidant , Manish Joshi, Vivek Chouhan, Rishab Mengi, Usha Jamwal and others.
