Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather informed the House that the privilege motions had been submitted by NC legislators Sajjad Shaheen and others, accusing BJP leaders Sunil Sharma, Sham Lal Sharma, Satish Kumar Sharma, Rajiv Jasrotia, Vikram Randhawa, and R.S. Pathania of contempt of the House for making offensive comments and raising objectionable slogans on November 6.
“This complaint has been recorded and is under review. Appropriate action will be taken as per the rules,” Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said.
The second motion was filed by NC legislator Nazir Ahmad Khan, against PDP lawmaker Waheed Ur Rehman Parra. “The complaint has been forwarded to my Secretariat and is under review. Action will be taken accordingly,” the Speaker added.
Earlier, a verbal clash occurred between NC’s Nazir Ahmad Khan and PDP leader Parra. Parra accused Gurezi of calling Jamaat-e-Islami members traitors, leading Gurezi to threaten a privilege motion in response as he denied having made any such remark.
