Privilege Motion against DC Udhampur doubtful: Dy Speaker

JAMMU, Mar 4: Deputy Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mohd Sartaz Madni today said that privilege motion against Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal has become doubtful as one of the signatories has written a letter seeking withdrawal of his name from the motion.
During the Zero Hour, National Panthers Party MLA from Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia sought to know the action taken on the privilege motion moved by him along with 30 other MLAs against Deputy Commissioner Udhampur for using un-parliamentary language against the MLAs.
“Your complaint has become doubtful as one of the signatories has come up with a written letter seeking deletion of his name from the privilege motion”, said Deputy Speaker, Mohd Sartaz Madni, who was conducting the proceedings of the House at that time.
He further said, “keeping in view this development, no decision could be taken on the privilege motion”, adding “the same is still under examination”.
On the insistence of Balwant Singh Makotia, Deputy Speaker informed the House that Congress MLA from Ramban, Ashok Kumar has withdrawn his name from the privilege motion.
