Priya conducts surprise check of Govt schools; orders suspension of Headmaster

JAMMU, Apr 15: Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture, Priya Sethi, today paid surprise visit to various cluster schools in Langeh and Kachhi Chawni  area to get a first hand appraisal of the working of these educational institutions
The Minister was accompanied by Director School Education Jammu Simrandeep Singh, Chief Education Officer Jammu, JK Sudan and other senior officers.
Priya took a round of various sections of the schools to ascertain the status of services being available. She enquired about the student-teacher ratio, quality of education and learning outcome.
Taking strong note of exploitation of some students in Middle School Langeh who were found dusting the classrooms, the Minister directed the Director School Education Jammu to initiate disciplinary action against the Headmaster of the School. She said such inhuman practices won’t be tolerated as it not only mars the future of the students but also defames this noble profession.
Expressing concern over inadequate infrastructure in some schools, the Minister asked the Director School Education to take necessary steps for development of fundamental infrastructure which is primary requirement for quality education. She also asked him to ensure that the teachers are posted in schools as per student strength.
The Minister exhorted upon the teachers to work with devotion and care to shape the future of the nation in a right direction. She assured them that they will be provided adequate facilities so that they can discharge their duties in a hassle-free manner.
“The Government would explore all possibilities to equip all pre-primary schools with requisite infrastructure,” she maintained.
