Priya inspects functioning of Govt schools

JAMMU: Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture, Priya Sethi, today paid surprise visit to various Government schools in Jammu city and inspected infrastructural facilities there.
The Minister was accompanied by Director School Education Simrandeep Singh, Chief Education Officer J.K Sudan and other senior officers.
Priya took a round of various sections of the school to ascertain the status of services being available and also held interactions with the students.
Expressing concern over inadequate infrastructure in some schools, the Minister asked the Director School Education to take necessary steps for development of fundamental infrastructure which is primary requirement for any institute.
Describing education as key factor in socio- economic development as well grooming of young generation into responsible citizens, the Minister laid stress on imparting quality education with academic excellence.
“Schools should be the seat of learning and institutions for human resource development”, she maintained
The Minister directed the teachers to encourage students for participation in extra-curricular activities which is pre-requisite for overall growth and personality development of students. “Only a healthy body possesses a healthy brain”, she added.
The Minister exhorted the teachers to put in dedicated and strenuous efforts to strengthen the education system. She further emphasized that students should be educated in such a manner that their mental horizons are broadened.
Later, the Minister released a Dogri Pop Album “Tere Jeiyaan” at K.L. Sehgal Hall.
