JAMMU, Aug 19: Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today visited MAM College and reviewed the progress on development works going on in the college premises.
During her visit to the campus, the Minister inspected the pace of works and passed directions for their early completion.
The Minister stressed on development of the recreational and educational infrastructure stating, “It is our moral obligation to provide our students with the best possible facilities for their overall growth and development, she added.”
While inspecting the under construction swimming pool, the Minister directed the concerned agencies to construct changing rooms/showers in the complex. She also stressed that the quality of work should not be compromised and work be completed within stipulated time period.
She directed the construction agencies to ensure proper lighting and ventilation in the classrooms and Indoor Stadium.
She stressed on automation and digitisation of books in the college library, besides proper display of periodicals, magazines and news papers in the complex for the benefit of the students.
She directed the college authorities to equip the science laboratories with modern facilities and new learning technologies to ensure that best possible practical education is provided to the students.
Stating that the Government would take further steps for beautification of college campus, she appealed the teachers and students to keep the surroundings of the premises neat and clean.
The Minister further directed the authorities to organise cultural programmes in the college for educating the students about the cultural heritage of our state, besides holding sports events, competitions, debates and symposiums for the overall development of the students.
The officers of JKPCC were directed to speed up the construction work of the new hostel complex.
The Minister was accompanied by senior officers of Education Department, JKPCC, PWD and other executing agencies.
