KATHUA, Nov 23: To promote the Dogra rich traditional culture in handicraft and kitchen ware among the women, a women NGO PARYAS and Nari Shakti Jagran Manch organize an exhibition in Kathua which was inaugurated by BJP spokesperson and Ex Minister, Priya Sethi and BJP Mahila Morcha, State president, Rajni Sethi at Mukhreeje Chowk here, today. On the occasion numbers of women displayed the traditional Dogra handicraft items and kitchen ware used for cooking food in earlier days and other Handicrafts of the Jammu region .
The art of weaving thread on Charkha for making Jute bags and cooking of Rajmash (beans) Rice to Babru Khastey food items were displayed in the exhibition which was appreciated by the visiting dignitaries. They also tasted the Dogra food. While addressing Ex Minister, Priya Sethi said that the Dogra culture is an ancient culture and it is matter of happiness that people have so far preserved it. The Government needs to take every step to promote it.
The BJP Mahila Morcha president , Rajni Sethi said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is taking every step to promote the cultural value and handicraft works made by women. The president of NGO PARYAS Updesh Andotra and NGO Nari Shakti Jagran Manch president, Sushma Mahajan gave details of working of NGO in upliftment of traditional culture and handicraft works in traditional way. So that the women may get employment resources at their door steps in rural areas as well as in urban areas. The participants were also appreciated on the occasion. The students of school also performed the religious ritual as Havana with Vedic mantras . People also witnessed the exhibition and recalled the golden days of ancient period and Dogras rich culture.
