‘Women empowerment essential’

JAMMU, Mar 4: Priya Sethi, National Executive Member and former Minister, emphasized the indispensable role of women’s empowerment across social, economic, political, and spiritual domains in realizing the nation’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Speaking to media persons after inaugurating the Marathon on ‘Nari Shakti Vandana’ at historical Mubarak Mandi area of Jammu city, the senior BJP leader underscored the pivotal importance of women’s agency in driving societal progress.
Sanjita Dogra, president Mahila Morcha and other BJP workers were also present along with Priya Sethi.
The marathon, themed around celebrating the strength of women (‘Nari Shakti Vandana’), commenced at Mubarak Mandi and culminated at Kacchi Chawni, drawing attention to the enduring spirit and contributions of women in every facet of society. Several notable personalities including, Savita Anand, Chakshu Kapoor, Anuradha Sharma, Jyoti Gupta, and Parmodh Kapahi graced the event, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the cause of women’s empowerment.
The former Minister said that women’s empowerment is not just a noble pursuit but a strategic imperative for our nation’s advancement. “True development can only be achieved when women are empowered to make choices freely and actively participate in all spheres of life. Economic independence, in particular, plays a significant role in bolstering women’s confidence and agency,” she added.
Priya Sethi lauded the initiatives undertaken by the Modi Government to foster women’s empowerment, emphasizing the importance of schemes aimed at enhancing women’s socio-economic participation.

As a staunch advocate for gender equality and women’s rights, she reiterated the BJP’s unwavering dedication to creating an environment where every woman can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
