JAMMU, Apr 06: Shashvat Art Gallery in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Women Welfare Organization, Jammu today organised “Duggar cultural event-cum exhibition” in the premises of Environmental Education Institute, Jullaka Mohalla here.
Priya Sethi, former Minister and senior BJP leader was the chief guest of the function. Yudhvir Sethi, vice-president, BJP was the guest of honour.
Prominent persons who graced the occasion included Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Deputy Director, Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, J&K Government, Prof (Dr.) Kavita Suri, former Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu, Professor Sushma Gupta, Head, Department of Sanskrit University of Jammu, Raj Raina, president, Namo Namo Morcha J&K, P.K Sharma, Director, P. K S Film Productions J&K, Dr. Suresh Abrol, Director, Manuscripts Conservation Center, Jammu, Romesh Chander Advisor, Arvind Kotiyal, K. K  Kotwal, Conservator of Manuscript Conservation Centre Jammu.
Earlier, Mrs Usha Anand, president Women Welfare Organization, welcomed the chief guest, guests of honor, special invitees, parents of the children and other guests.
Prominent Dugger folk artists presented a very nice mega cultural show which included folk songs, folk dances of Dogri, Punjabi and Gojri languages. The students of the school also presented various cultural items.
Speaking at the occasion, Priya Sethi, chief guest and former Minister congratulated the organizers for organising such a gala event for the promotion of Duggar art and culture. “We need to preserve our rich culture in the form of miniature paintings, manuscripts, folk songs, folk dances and various other cultural performing forms which have been handed over to upcoming generation, she added.
Yudhvir Sethi in his address, said that our culture is most powerful tool to presenting our tangible and intangible wealth of heritage.
Earlier, Romesh Chander, Director of the event, presented the vote of thanks. Rajni Sharma conducted the event beautifully.
