Priya Sethi slams Mamata Govt for atrocities on women

JAMMU, Mar 6: Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader, voiced her concern about the rising atrocities against women under the Mamata Banerjee-led Government in West Bengal, criticizing the poor state of women’s safety and security in the State, despite the Indian culture glorifying women as ‘Maa Durga.’
The senior BJP leader was speaking during the programme held at Aggarwal Sabha here, today in connection with party’s ongoing campaign of Nari Shakti Vandan. On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president, Parmod Kapahi, district president BJP Jammu, Purnima Sharma (Ex Deputy Mayor), Gopal Mahajan and Nidhi Mangotra ex corporators, Sangeeta Anand spokesperson, Mahil Morcha, Kuldeep Kandhari, Savita Anand, Chakshu Kapoor, Asha Gupta, Anuradha Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Parveen Kerni, Raman Sharma, Arun Sethi, Rajiv Sethi and others were present.
Women from all walks of life from East and West constituencies also participated in the concluding programme of Nari Shakti Vandan.
Addressing the programme, Priya Sethi condemned the West Bengal Government for their lack of action against the alleged sexual abuse of women and failure to ensure women’s safety in the State. She stated that on one hand, the Modi Government in India has worked tirelessly to empower the women of the country, but on the other hand, the Mamata Banerjee-led Government is miserably failing to secure the freedom and dignity of the women residing in West Bengal.
Priya Sethi called out the West Bengal Government for its inaction and demanded strict action against the perpetrators of such criminal acts. She criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led Government for its failure to provide basic human rights to its citizens and called for rapid remedial action to ensure that women living in West Bengal feel safe and secure.
Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president, in his address, highlighted the unparalleled progress achieved in women’s empowerment under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi over the past decade. He hailed the transformative initiatives and policies spearheaded by the Modi Government, aimed at fostering gender equality and inclusivity across all sectors of society.
Parmodh Kapahi, District President said that Modi Government’s holistic approach towards women’s empowerment encompasses economic, social, and political spheres, ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to realize her full potential and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth story.
