AKHNOOR, Dec 23: Former minister and senior BJP leader Priya Sethi here today underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of India.
Addressing the students during a function at GD Goenka Public School, Sethi said that destiny of India is being shaped in its classrooms.
She commended the recent recommendation by a committee of NCERT proposing replacement of the term ‘India’ with ‘Bharat’ in school textbooks and termed it as a significant step towards reinforcing the cultural and historical identity of the nation.
The BJP leader also highlighted the transformative impact of the New Education Policy introduced by PM Modi led government.
“This policy is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing the educational landscape of the country and it is designed to equip the youth with the knowledge, skills and values needed to contribute effectively to society and nation’s progress,” she maintained throwing light on the importance of nurturing values like tolerance, respect and empathy within educational system.
Priya Sethi also commended the dedicated efforts of the Chairman, Principal and management of GD Goenka Public School for their commitment to provide quality education and fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth.
Purshotam Sharma, Chairman of the School outlined the future plans for the school, which include integrating advanced technologies in classrooms, expanding extracurricular programmes and strengthening community partnerships to enhance the overall educational experience of the students.
