JAMMU, Dec 5: Minister of State for Education, Tourism and Horticulture, Priya Sethi today inaugurated 2-month long multi-activity workshop on social and religious deliberations at Kailash Ashram Chinore here.
The programme is being jointly organised by the Ekal Abhiyan and Shree Hari Satsang Samiti, social organizations.
MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar and members of the respective organizations were also present on the occasion.
The objective of the workshop is to enlighten the rural masses, especially the women and youth towards their role in the nation building, development of the society, rights of the people and women empowerment. During the course of the workshop the participants will be imparted basic knowledge on varied subjects related to the betterment of the society, which will help in promoting moral ethos, cultural heritage and secularism in the country. The effort will also promote eradicating the social evils like domestic violence, gender bias, dowry, drugs from the society.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the role of the organizations for their valuable contribution in the development of rural areas through providing basic education to the children about ‘Arogya Shiksha’ to women, ‘Vikas Shiksha’ to males and ‘Adhikar Shiksha’ to youth which are the key factors for the development of the society and nation.
She called upon the organizers to make their constant efforts to promote the moral education among the youth and rights of the people, especially about the women empowerment, gender equality and social evils to bring reforms in the society.
She hoped that the efforts of the organizers will go a long way in creating general awareness amongst the rural youth and women about their rights and responsibilities towards the society and nation. She said that the other organizations should also come forward and contribute for the overall development of the society and mankind as a social gesture.
Shakti Parihar also deliberated on the objective of the workshop and lauded their selfless venture for the welfare of the society.
