BHADERWAH, Nov 30: On the third day of the Chenab Valley Youth Festival “SANGAM-2015′, felicitation ceremony was organized and prizes were distributed among the participants of this mega event.
The four-day youth festival “SANGAM-15′ is being organized by Bhaderwah Campus in collaboration with 4 Rashtriya Rifles (Bihar) to promote everlasting peace and prosperity in the Chenab Valley. The valedictory function will be held on December 1, 2015.
In the felicitation ceremony, MLC Naresh Gupta, who was the chief guest, lauded the efforts of Bhaderwah Campus and Army in organizing this four-day successful event to boost the morale of the youths living in far-off areas of this Chenab region. He also expressed his pleasure over introducing B-Ed course at Bhaderwah Campus. “I am hopeful that very soon new job oriented courses will also be introduced at Bhaderwah Campus,” he added.
Prof G M Bhat, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, said that through Sadhbhavana, Army has not only contributed to the development in hard infrastructure including institutions but also taking up the development of youth through the ventures like Cultural Events and Educational Seminar/tours and many more activities.
He said that it was the long pending demand of the people of the Chenab belt to start B Ed course and it will be followed by other Science stream courses in near future. “With the opening of B Ed course at Bhaderwah Campus, this will not only benefit students of Chenab belt but students from Himachal Pradesh and Kathua will also get benefitted,” he added.
2 IC 4 RR, located at Bhaderwah, in his address, highlighted the aspect of return of normalcy in the region which was evident from the enthusiastic participation of the students from various colleges including about 60 percent girl students of the total participants. He stressed on empowerment of youth and added that the role the Army can play in achieving the same.
The programme was conducted by Dr Jatinder Manhas, Head Computer Science while as the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Neeraj Sharma, Head IME Bhaderwah Campus.
