JAMMU, June 12: Process for fresh admissions in the city colleges began today with the sale of admission broachers as well as submission of online applications by the admission seekers.
Queues of admission seekers and hustle bustle were seen in these colleges, which include GGM Science College, GCW Gandhi Nagar, MAM College and SMPR College of Commerce. However, at GCW Parade, which has been granted autonomous status by the UGC, the entire admission process has been made online thus facilitating the students to apply for admissions without visiting the college for purchase of prospects.
At GGM Science College, the online admission was formally launched by the MoS Education Priya Sethi in the presence of the College Principal and others.
June 18 is the last date for submission of the application forms while first selection list will be released on June 22.
However, the GCW Parade will release the first selection list on June 20.
Meanwhile, the Principal of GCW Parade, Prof Hemla Aggarwal has clarified that despite autonomous status to the college, the degree will be awarded by the Jammu University.
The examinations as well as evaluation of paper will be conducted by the college on its own but the degrees will be awarded by JU, she added.
