JAMMU, Sept 27: Professor Anil Kumar, Associate Director Research, Advanced Centre for Rainfed Agriculture of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been awarded prestigious Indian Society of Weed Science Fellow Award by Indian Society of Weed Science for the year 2016.
The honour was conferred for significant contribution in the field of weed science and award will be presented during inaugural session of an international conference of Indian Society of Weed Science Golden Jubilee, to be held at Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur on 21st November, 2018.
Professor Anil Kumar graduated in Agriculture form the SKUAST-J&K, obtained his M Sc in Agronomy from HPKV-Palampur and Ph D from PAU-Ludhiana. He has served the State Agriculture Department and SKUAST-J in different capacities including Agriculture Extension Officer, Assistant Professor Agronomy, Programme Coordinator of KVK and is presently working as Associate Director Research at ACRA, Dhainsar, SKUAST -Jammu. He has more than eighty research papers in national and international journals to his credit, ten books and more than thirty chapters in various edited books.
