JAMMU, Aug 29: K C Public School under its inspiring talk initiative invited Prof Gurdev to conduct a live demo session on hydroponics for the students. The session aimed to educate and inspire the young minds towards sustainable farming and advanced agricultural practices.
Hydroponics, a modern technique of growing plants without soil, has gained significant attention in recent years due to its numerous benefits such as efficient water use, increased crop yield, and reduced environmental impact.
During the session, Prof Gurdev demonstrated the key principles of hydroponics, including nutrient solution management, pH regulation, and plant growth optimization. The students not only gained theoretical knowledge but also had the opportunity to observe the practical aspects of setting up and maintaining a hydroponic system.
During the session, students had the chance to engage in hands-on activities, such as preparing nutrient solutions and adjusting pH levels. They also learnt about the different types of hydroponic systems available and how to choose the most suitable one for specific crops. Additionally, Prof Gurdev shared insights on the environmental advantages of hydroponics, such as water conservation and reduced pesticide use. Principal Amarendra Mishra ensured that students are exposed to forward-thinking methodologies, preparing them to be leaders in their chosen fields.
