Prof Ishaq Khan passes away

Srinagar, Apr 5: Noted historian and former Dean Social Sciences in Kashmir University, Professor Mohammad Ishaq Khan passed away today after a brief illness.
Professor Khan’s most widely read book Kashmir’s Transition to Islam: The Role of Muslim Rishis has been described as a pioneering, authoritative  and seminal work on the social dimension of Islam in Kashmir.
Large number of people participated in his last rites and he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Magarmal Bagh, Srinagar.
The journalist fraternity has expressed sympathies with his son, Amir Khan who works in Tribune newspaper in Srinagar. They have prayed for the peace to the soul of Professor Khan.
