JAMMU, Oct 31: Prof A S Jasrotia, HoD Remote Sensing &GIS, has been elected as president of Jammu University Teachers Cooperative Housing Society, maiden elections which were held today.
In a straight contest, Prof Jasrotia secured 97 votes and defeated Prof N K Tripathi with a margin of seven votes.
Prof Satya Paul of Chemistry Department and Prof Pawnesh Abrol were elected for the post of vice-president and general secretary, respectively while Dr Seema Nargotra was elected as joint secretary and Dr R K Bamezai as treasurer.
Prof Rajni Kant, Prof Vinod Sharma, Prof Parmeshwar Sharma, Prof Prakash Chand, Prof S K Pandita and Prof V K Anand were elected as the management committee members.
