Prof Pragati Kumar takes over as Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU

KATRA, June 20: Prof Pragati Kumar today took over the charge of Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and reviewed functioning of the university.
The new Vice-Chancellor interacted with the university officers and took feedback on various administrative as well as academic issues. All Deans, Registrar, Finance Officer and other senior functionaries of the University were present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered appointment of Prof Pragati Kumar as Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU on May 19. He has assumed the charge of Vice-Chancellor for a period of three years.
Prof Pragati Kumar has served as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Delhi Technological University. His areas of interests are Active Networks, Analog Integrated Circuit, Non-linear Circuit Design, Analog Instrumentation etc. He has also worked as Head, Department of Electrical Engineering and Dean, Industrial Research Development at Delhi Technical University.
Prof Pragati Kumar has wide professional and research experience of over 32 years and has been a member of the academic bodies of various prestigious Institutions of the country. He has to his credit more than 55 publications in various International/National Journals, books and conferences of repute. His vast experience in teaching and research is expected to help Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in achieving success in all fields.
